SASU DISTRIBUTED RELIEF TO THE
AFFECTED SANTAL PEOPLES OF BAGDA FIRM, GABINDAGANJ, GAIBANDHA
Yesterday November 23, 2016 SASU, Bangladesh has distributed
the collected relief to the affected Santal peoples of bagda firm,
Gaibandha. SASU, Bangladesh observed the situation of the Bagda Firm and talked with the affected peoples.
Affected Santals are firmly said that they want to return to
their ancestor land and deny to shift from there. They are passing the very
hard time, where there is no food, no house and live under the open sky.
SASU Bangladesh Central Committee President Tarsisius Hasdak
Topu said after visited them, "Now we need strong bondage and cooperation
to each other to helping them." He also requested to Santal peoples of the
world, please come together and expand your hand to the Santal peoples of
Bagda, Gaibandha, Bangladesh, our small contribution can be performed many
things and I hope you will do."It is high time for the Santal peoples to
raise the voice against these land grabbers. This attack is not only for the
Bagda firm’s peoples, but also for all over Santal Communities."
at the Relief Distribution Team there were Prodip Murmu ex-organizing
secretary of the central committee, Sumon Michael Murmu, General Secretary of
the Central Committee, Sushil Kisku,
Organizing Secretary of the Central Committee, Subas Murmu, Presdident of SASU, Rajshahi,
Mohanagar Branch,Bangladesh, Nipen Kisku,General Secratary of Rajshahi Branch, Michael Modhusudon Murmu, General Secretary of
Thakurgaon Zila Branch, Treasurer Ganesh Hembrom, Circulating Secretary Ripon Kisku,
Jonas Hasdak, Liton Mardi, Member of the Thakurgaon Branch.
Subas Murmu, President of Rajshahi Mohanagar Branch, said
that, “ We have to stand beside the affected peoples as a student organs and
also have to help them systematically. Though we have no fund ourselves but,
although we can help them through rising fund from others.” “He also added
that, the Leading peoples who have
betrayed with them, the Santals have to
avoid them and also keep themselves save from them.”
The victim Santal people’s one and only demand is “ We want
our ancestor land. We do not want rehabilitation from the government. We want
the justice of the murder of our peoples.”
The Santals are now living in a very insecure situation.
There are lots of women and children’s who are living under the open sky. Again
in this winter it is really tough to them to stay in such conditions.
The Santal Students Union(SASU), Bangladesh, express anxiety
and curiosity at this attack. Yet why have not taken any strict steps against
the attackers and also the local government.
